Our students

Our students are passionate about their studies. They learn from each other, build communities and answer some of the world's toughest challenges — which could well be their next team assignment.

They're diverse

At any time, we have a few thousand students online and on campus.

Our student community is diverse. About 20 per cent are international students from all over the world. We also have many Indigenous students who have a "home away from home" at the Sneq’wa e’lun/Blue Heron House. We have a strong network of LGBTQ2S+ students, and many students in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond.

They're experienced

About 70 per cent of our students remain in their jobs while they learn in our online and blended programs. That means our students bring a wealth of work and life experience to their studies and each other.

They're educated

Our student body is 70 per cent graduate students at the master's and doctoral level. We also have a dynamic population of undergrads, many who choose to complete the last two years of their degrees at Royal Roads, bringing their credits and experience with them.

They're here for you

Our students work together in close-knit teams and classes. They show up for each other, supporting and challenging their teammates to do their best. And after graduating, they stay in touch. Countless lifelong friendships and professional networks begin at Royal Roads.

They're changemakers

Our students know that education is about more than what happens in the classroom. They live their learning. They put it to work in their communities. They share their research with community partners. And thanks to innovative online platforms, with the world.

Throughout their programs and beyond, they use their learning to take on real world challenges and make our world a better place.

Read about our students in the news. They're always up to something interesting.
