This SSHRC funded Destination Horizon grant funded members of the NATSAFE (Nature Based Solutions for a Sustainable and Secure North) research network to convene for a proposal writing workshop.
The primary goal of the NATSAFE (Nature Based Solutions for a Sustainable and Secure North) research network is to investigate the potential for Nature Based Solutions in the Arctic and Sub-Arctic to address climate change, biodiversity loss, resulting livelihood loss, and sustainable, climate resilient development in Arctic and Northern communities. This Destination Horizon SSHRC grant funded NATSAFE research network members to convene for a proposal writing workshop. This in combination with a series of virtual meetings, will enable the research consortium to develop a proposal for an international, inter and transdisciplinary project investigating ways in which Nature Based Solutions can be identified, valued, and included in policy decisions in circumpolar Arctic and Sub-Arctic governance for an EU Horizon Pillar II call.
