Dr. Belcher was granted a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Institutional Grant to present an overview of case studies of completed research projects.

My program has developed evaluative methods and conducted a series of case studies on completed research projects. This presentation will provide an overview of the range of cases and the methods and present the key findings, including: 1. there are multiple non-linear impact pathways; 2. transdisciplinary research (TDR) projects make a broader range of contributions; 3. process contributions can be as or more important than knowledge contributions; 4. research users have differentiated perceptions of research value; 5. researchers’ reputations and expertise have influence on target audiences; and 6. deliberate and systematic planning for outcomes can help facilitate learning and improve research practice
