Tasha Jarisz

Environment & Sustainability

Tasha Jarisz completed her PhD in chemistry at the University of Victoria in 2021. Her research focused on bacterial adhesion at surfaces using nonlinear optical spectroscopy. During her doctorate, she also completed the Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (LATHE) program and served as the director of communications for UVic Women in Science. Since graduating, she has enjoyed teaching chemistry at UVic, Royal Roads University, and Camosun College.

Experience

This is Tasha's second year teaching in the Environmental Science program at RRU. Additionally, she serves as a sessional instructor in the chemistry department at UVic, teaching first-, second-, and third-year courses. Tasha is passionate about the scholarship of teaching and learning; she has been involved as a research assistant on two SoTL grant projects. Furthermore, she finds joy in conducting workshops on teaching and learning.
