Jade Yehia

Environment & Sustainability

Jade Yehia was raised in Vancouver, BC, and has lived in various parts of the province. She completed her undergraduate studies in Montreal and holds a Master of Science in Health Impact Assessment.

Jade is a certified Environmental Health Officer and Consultant with a passion for building and retrofitting communities to embody innovation and green design. She is dedicated to promoting equity, conducting holistic assessments, and exploring the intersection of climate and health. In her free time, she enjoys biking, yoga, singing, dancing, and spending time in nature. Jade resides with her family in Victoria, BC, on the traditional territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples.

Experience

Jade boasts more than14 years of experience in Population and Public Health, focusing on climate change, healthy communities, and environmental public health. 

She led Island Health's Healthy Built Environment program for nearly a decade before becoming the inaugural Climate Change and Health Lead at the BC Ministry of Health. Jade founded EJY Environmental Consulting, emphasizing holistic health assessments and sustainable land use planning. Her recent research focuses on planetary health as a pivotal force for systems transformation. Currently, she teaches part-time at Royal Roads University.
