Interdisciplinary Studies

Holly Baines is an activist-scholar. Her teaching and research interests and practices include decolonizing methodologies, transformative education, integrative health practices, organizational development through institutional cultural change, global flows of capital and labour and critical pedagogies.

 

Experience

Baines has been teaching in informal settings since 1992, and in formal institutions since 2003. Her formal teaching career spans the disciplines of sociology, labour studies, gender studies, communications studies and cultural studies. It also spans various universities, including the University of Toronto, McMaster University, Wilfrid Laurier University, Ryerson University, Centennial College and Royal Roads University.

Baines is working on her dissertation for a PhD in Sociology and Equity Studies in Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.
