Upcoming Alumni Weekend is for connection, learning and celebration

Royal Roads University alumni are a community of incredibly smart and creative, highly accomplished and inspiring people. RRU brings them together each year for a weekend of connection, learning and fun, in what we call the Alumni Weekend.
The annual event features illuminating talks from fellow alumni who are experts in their field, a thought-provoking keynote, and a variety of workshops led by RRU staff and faculty. Attendees will also have ample time for connecting and networking with alumni throughout the two-day event.
New to Alumni Weekend this year, is a celebration for the inaugural recipients of the RRU Alumni Changemaker Achievement Awards.
Attendees can look forward to these Alumni Weekend highlights:
- The excitement kicks off Friday, May 2, with an energizing TEDxRRU event, showcasing impactful stories from alumni changemakers. Alumni will receive a special rate for their TEDxRRU tickets.
- Saturday, May 3, will begin with a keynote presentation from Dan Riskin, “How to Thrive in the Brave New World of Artificial Intelligence,” which will explore AI trends worth leveraging to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
- Later, the choose-your-own-workshop session allows alumni to decide how they’ll spend the afternoon, from learning about edible gardens at the Farm at RRU, to preparing a TEDx presentation, or taking a traditional plant walk on Charlie’s Trail with Cowichan Elder Kenneth Elliott. See all options listed on the Alumni Weekend page.
- The weekend will end in celebration with the Alumni Changemaker Achievement Awards reception, where we’ll unveil the inaugural recipients and celebrate their remarkable achievements.
