RRU in the Media 

Here's where Royal Roads made headlines this week: 

• Associate Professor of Communication and Culture David Black commented on the ideological differences among the BC Conservative leadership candidates in a Canadian Press article, which was shared by CBC, CHEK, CTV, Times Colonist, and other publications across the country.  

• Black was also interviewed by Times Colonist and CBC All Points West on government mishandling of a dispute with the Greater Victoria School Board over school police liaison officers, and by CHEK News about Pierre Poilievre’s town hall on the Cowichan land title case, and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s referendum on leaving Canada (link to video).  

• Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies Moira McDonald, Assistant Professor of Tourism and Hospitality Management Ann-Kathrin McLean, and Master of Arts in Tourism Management students Oreoluwa Adeniyi and Shimaya Sureshbabu wrote an article for The Conversation Canada on the impacts of the fuel crisis and rising inflation on global and domestic travel.  

• Carol Off, award-winning author and journalist, spoke to CBC On The Island about her Changemakers Speakers Series on her upcoming book, True Patriot Love: Reporting From the Frontlines of Canadian Sovereignty (Interview link not available). 

• Cascade Institute Polycrisis Fellow Christopher Collins wrote an opinion piece for The Globe and Mail on how the US bond market could initiate a global economic crash (Available through RRU Library login).
