Legacy gifts are gifts for the future; a chance to transform the world. Each May in Canada, Leave a Legacy month highlights the impact that legacy giving makes in our communities while providing meaningful tax advantages.

A legacy gift to Royal Roads University provides transformational support for post-secondary educational opportunities. From programs to campus spaces to student support and research initiatives, legacy gifts make a significant impact and continue to support programs and initiatives donors care about well into the future.  

These long-term investments in Royal Roads benefit students, faculty and staff and provide substantial financial benefits and savings to donors and their estate. 

There are many ways to make a Legacy Gift:

  • Bequest – leaving a gift in your will
  • Gifts of Securities – donated directly to Royal Roads; not subject to Capital Gains Tax
  • RRSP, RRIF or TFSAs – naming Royal Roads as a beneficiary 
  • Life Insurance – naming Royal Roads as a Beneficiary or owner of a new or existing policy

Legacy giving is a gift that will open doors for students to earn new credentials, pursue dream careers and further new research discoveries to find solutions to the world’s most challenging problems.
