Bloom Castle by the Sea welcomes Apple Festival-goers

Salt Spring Island’s 2024 Apple Festival welcomed residents and tourists alike on September 29 to celebrate the over 500 apple varieties grown organically on the Island. Royal Roads University was honored to participate in their first Apple Festival at Bloom Castle by the Sea.

Joined by partners Salt Spring Island Farmland Trust and Salt Spring Island Conservancy, visitors were asked what kind of programming or activities would best serve Salt Spring Island community that would be in keeping with Susan Bloom’s commitment to regenerative sustainability.

Apple festival visitors we able to explore the grounds of the Bloom estate, and many delighted in strolling through the orchard, having a picnic, and enjoying the ocean views.

Royal Roads looks forward to engaging with Salt Spring community members in the coming months. Many wonderful ideas, connections and suggestions were gathered at the Apple Festival and we’re grateful to everyone who participated and came to visit us.
