Former Youth in Care

The Learning Fund for Young Adults (LFYA) grant was launched in September 2024. It provides eligible young adults with care experience a one-time payment of $1500 to contribute to the costs of participating in an educational, employment, training or life skills-based program or activity of their choice.

Eligibility

  • Born on or after January 1, 2006
  • At least 17 years old and no older than 36
  • Before turning 19, spent at least 12 months of care in at least one legal status of the BC Ministry of Child and Family Development or the Indigenous Child and Family Service Agency in BC.
