The small class sizes and hands-on learning at RRU made a huge difference in my education. The interaction with instructors was fantastic, and the support I received was incredible.

I chose Royal Roads because I wanted to study in an English-speaking country, and Canada intrigued me as it was a place I had never explored before. My home university in the Netherlands has a partnership with Royal Roads, and after some research, it felt like the perfect fit. I was attracted to the small class sizes, which fostered great interaction between students and instructors. I also appreciated the emphasis on applied, hands-on learning, which suited my learning style. Plus, the location is stunning, surrounded by nature and the iconic Hatley Castle.

One of my most memorable experiences was during the Online Venture Challenge course. Our team created an online shop selling eco-friendly dog and cat products. We even built a Dog Stick Library to boost brand awareness. Our efforts paid off as we were featured on the news, radio, and TV. It was an incredible hands-on learning experience that I’ll never forget.

Completing a semester in the BBA program at RRU was a turning point for me personally and professionally. It was my first time living on my own and travelling to the other side of the world by myself boosted my confidence immensely. It was also my first time studying in English, which was challenging, but my language skills improved drastically. Through presentations and reports, I honed my speaking and writing abilities, skills that have been invaluable in my career.

The warmth, friendliness and generosity of my classmates were truly remarkable. Their hospitality made me feel very welcome and comfortable during my time there. Beyond the school hours, I loved exploring the beauty of Vancouver Island and Victoria and enjoying fun activities with classmates and friends.

To anyone considering Royal Roads, go for it! It’s a unique opportunity. The small class sizes and the incredible support from staff and instructors stand out. Everyone is keen to help you succeed, and the experience will be one you’ll treasure forever.
