Indigenous Knowledge for Leading in Extraordinary Times

Dr. Etmanski received Buttedahl and Skene Learning and Teaching Innovation Funds to collaborate with Indigenous Contractors to promote reconciliation and decolonization at their Leadership Conference.

The School of Leadership Studies (SoLS) is requesting funds to hire two Indigenous Contractors to enhance the focus on reconciliation and decolonization at their upcoming Leadership Conference (April 23-25, 2020). This request is to hire Christine Webster (MA Leadership alumna and Research Assistant on the Indigenous Alumni Survey) to become a member on the conference organizing team, and for Butch Dick (member of RRU’s Heron People Circle) to become an Indigenous Elder in Residence at the conference. This initiative builds on SoLS’ past work collaborating with Indigenous Student Services and the Heron People Circle to promote reconciliation and decolonization.
