Identifying and honouring the needs of Indigenous leaders and learners
Dr. Etmanski received a Research and Professional Development grants to host a learning circle with Indigenous members to recognize their guidance in the field of reconciliation and decolonization.
For the past eight years, my research agenda has increasingly turned to reconciliation and decolonization. As a non-Indigenous researcher with the intention of working in solidarity with Indigenous colleagues, my scholarship and practice would benefit from an opportunity to bring together the various Indigenous community members with whom I am connected.
I would like to honour guidance received from Indigenous colleagues and therefore pay people an honorarium for their participation. I am proposing to use the remaining funds on this RPD grant to host a half-day online learning circle with Indigenous members of my scholarly community.
