Harish Kumar Tiwari is studying in the Master of Global Management program at Royal Roads. He is an accomplished and dedicated professional with a rich and diverse background, well-versed in both public and private sectors.
His career embodies a steadfast commitment to instigate positive change and a proven track record in financial, property and operations management. With this comprehensive experience and unwavering commitment, Harish expresses his sincere interest in running for the Board of Governors position.
His tenure as the co-chair of the Locally Engaged Staff Management Consultation Board at the High Commission of Canada to India allowed him to co-lead the Representation Board of Employees, collaboratively steering strategic direction. This position enabled him to act as the primary conduit between employees and the Management Board, ensuring to effectively put forward their concerns, feedback and suggestions. Notably, Harish championed initiatives dedicated to enhancing the professional growth and well-being of the staff and skillfully engaged with industry partners to uphold and promote the values of Global Affairs Canada.
Simultaneously, his role as a member of the Regional Contract Review Board for South Asia and the Middle East & North Africa region at Global Affairs Canada empowered him to conduct a thorough analysis and assessment of procurement strategies. In this capacity, he consistently identified areas for improvement and efficiency, offering innovative approaches to augment cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency. His vigilant oversight of statutory regulations and procurement guidelines fostered well-informed decision-making and prudent risk management.
Complementing his professional achievements, he has always been deeply committed to positively impacting the community through volunteer work. As a Petitioner-In-Person, Harish successfully pursued a protracted development project issue in an underprivileged area of Shravasti, Uttar Pradesh, using the Right to Information Act and innovative social media campaigns. This endeavor resulted in substantial regional development, underscoring his dedication to driving tangible change.
Furthermore, his role as a fundraising volunteer for Vishwa Kalyan Parishad allowed him to secure financial resources for subsidized meals, raising approximately INR 1 million.
His passion for community service extends to his contributions as a healthcare worker in polio vaccination drives under India's Pulse Polio Immunization Program, supported by the government of India and the World Health Organization. This collective effort was pivotal in WHO declaring India a "Polio Free Country" in 2014.
In his professional roles with the High Commission of Canada to India, Handygo Technologies Private Limited, Multani Pharmaceuticals Limited and the British Council India, he has honed his finance, accounts and property management expertise.
