Vancouver Island Trail Running Series - Royal Roads University

We’re back in 2026 at Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC with the best way to open the season. Fast, flowy and beautiful single track that is sure to impress even the seasoned trail runners. New to trail running? You’ll love this race as it’s great for all abilities! See you at the finish line for some post-race food and draw prizes!

Royal Roads University acknowledges that the campus is on the traditional lands of the Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) and Lekwungen (Songhees) ancestors and families. With gratitude, we live, work, and learn here where the past, present, and future of Indigenous and non Indigenous students, faculty and staff come together.

Kids Race - 10:15 a.m.

• Registration fees for the kid’s race go towards the South Vancouver Island Nature Trails Society.

Long Course - 10:30 a.m.

• 11k
• 300m Vertical Gain
• 1 Aid Station at 7.5km

Short Course - 11:00 a.m.

• 6k
• 100m Vertical Gain

Course Map

Parking

There is ample parking in the adjacent dirt track. See this Google Map for the exact location. We will have parking volunteers to assist you, please follow their directions. PAY PARKING IS IN EFFECT – PLEASE ENSURE YOU PAY FOR PARKING.

Please carpool if you can! You can meet new friends and also reduce your carbon footprint.

Bib Pick Up

You are required to show a government-issued photo ID to get your race bib – No exceptions. Passport, driver’s licence, hunting licence, etc. all work!

Pick up your bib from the registration tent in the field.

To ease congestion, bib pick up times are staggered.

• Long Course participants: 9:00am – 10:00am.
• Short Course participants: 9:45am – 10:30am.
• Kids Race: 9:00am – 10:00am.

Aid Stations

There is one aid station for the long course at the 7.5km mark and no aid stations for the short course. We’ll have water, Gatorade and some small snacks!

Our events are cupless! Please bring something to drink from! (or purchase a cup from the Frontrunners merch tent!)

Finish Line Fun

Join us to enjoy some post-race food, cheer on runners, and stay until the end when we’ll be drawing names from our finisher list to win sweet prizes from our sponsors!
