Dr. Sibo Chen is an Associate Professor in the School of Professional Communication at Toronto Metropolitan University. He is a critical communication scholar by training, with areas of interest that include environmental communication, risk and crisis communication,and political economy of communication. He is author of Petro-Rhetoric in Canada: Narrating Extractivism (Palgrave McMillan, 2026) and Energy Politics and Discourse in Canada: Probing Progressive Extractivism (Routledge, 2023).
