Indigenous Medicine Garden Work Party – Healthy Planet Program

On May 26th, come out to the Farm for a work party and a chance to meet Emilie Lohowy, the newest addition to the Indigenous Education Team. The Healthy Planet Program is delighted to co-host this work party with the Indigenous Education department and The Farm. Drop in between 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and stay for as long as you're able to.  

We’ll be working in the Indigenous Medicine Garden to maintain the beds and learn about traditional medicines and native plants that grow in the space. Come join us to help in the garden, connect with others and spend time outdoors making a positive impact. No prior experience is necessary, and all equipment will be provided.

Please note: We'll be working on uneven terrain in an area that is not wheelchair accessible and may be hard to reach for those with limited mobility.  

Can’t make it but want to help? Recurring opportunities to volunteer in the Indigenous Medicine Garden with Emilie take place every two weeks throughout the summer. Employees can check Crossroads for details! And, if you’d like to volunteer at the Farm on other days, you can generally drop in on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays between 10am to 2pm.  

The Healthy Planet Program is an initiative co-led by the Climate Action and Sustainability Team and People and Culture's Healthy U team to offer campus stewardship opportunities to staff, students, faculty and community members.
