Have you ever been curious about trying forest bathing? Are you happy for any opportunity to be surrounded by trees? Or do you just need an excuse to get away from your desk during your lunch break? Whatever your reason, join us on Tuesday May 5th at noon for another gentle, introductory-level forest bathing session.
No prior experience is necessary, and staff, students, faculty and community members are all welcome. The session runs for 90 minutes but those that need to leave early can slip out between activities.
Please register for the location and more details about the session.
This session will be guided by RRU associate faculty member Michelle Hamilton-Page, who is a certified Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, and has been leading forest bathing sessions in person and remotely for over six years. Michelle is passionate about forest therapy (the forest is the therapist), and the environmental impacts on health and healthy workplace cultures.
ACCESSIBILITY: This trail is not wheelchair accessible and may be hard to reach or navigate for those with limited mobility. The trail difficulty level is easy to moderate with gentle inclines on unpaved and uneven terrain. The walk will be at a slow to moderate pace. The guide will speak clearly, and invite anyone with low vision, hearing loss, or both to stand or sit near them to access assistance, if needed. If you need accommodations that are not mentioned here, or have questions, please reach out.
The Healthy Planet Program is an initiative co-led by the Climate Action and Sustainability Team and People and Culture's Healthy U team to offer campus stewardship opportunities to staff, students, faculty and community members. We gratefully acknowledge WWF-Canada's Go Wild grant for support of RRU's Healthy Planet Program.
