Have you ever been curious about trying forest bathing or “Shinrin-yoku”? Are you happy for any opportunity to be surrounded by trees? Or do you just need an excuse to get away from your desk during your lunch break? Whatever your reason, join us on Tuesday March 11 at noon for a gentle, introductory-level forest bathing session.
No prior experience is necessary and staff, students and faculty are all welcome. The session runs for 60 minutes but those that need to leave early can slip out between activities.
LOCATION: We will meet at 4-way intersection of College Dr. & University Dr. (upper entrance of lower Charlie's Trail) at noon, before heading off together. Please bring a warm beverage and dress for the weather with shoes you can walk on muddy trails with.
>> NOTE: We will be finding a spot in the forest to sit, so it’s important to bring something you can sit on - like a garden kneeling pad, outdoor cushion or reusable bag.
This session will be guided by RRU associate faculty member Michelle Hamilton-Page, who is a certified Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, and has been leading forest bathing sessions in person and remotely for five years. Michelle is passionate about forest therapy (the forest is the therapist), and the environmental impacts on health and healthy workplace cultures.
