Introduces students to concepts related to Indigeneity, historical experiences with colonization, and the myriad of ways that Indigenous peoples revitalize their ways of knowing, being, and doing. Current events and issues related to Indigenous sovereignty will be discussed in a way that connects them to historical legacies. Identifies different approaches to decolonization and Indigenous knowledge mobilization to create opportunities to be immersed in action-oriented learning that supports the work of Indigenous communities, thinkers, and leaders.
