On-Campus Start Dates

This leading-edge graduate program is the first of its kind in Canada’s tourism and hospitality education system. It responds to the worldwide demand for tourism and hospitality leaders to build and sustain a competitive advantage in the global tourism market. Timely and relevant program content has been designed in collaboration with industry experts, students, faculty and education partners. Students gain skills in destination development, leadership, sustainability and global tourism.

Students requiring English language upgrading can qualify for the MA in Tourism Management program through our Pre-Master’s Program (PMP)

The MA in Tourism Management focuses on case studies and examples from around the world, enabling students to compare and contrast approaches to sustainable tourism development. It also equips students with the skills to address workplace challenges encountered by professionals across the tourism and hospitality industries.

Speak with our Faculty

Streams

The MA in Tourism Management is offered in two formats: an 12-month on-campus model (with an optional internship of up to 6 months) and a 27-month blended learning model. Both models share a similar curriculum and course selection.

On-Campus

The on-campus stream is an intensive 12-month program structured as a full-time, on-campus experience. The final component of the program offers two options, the first is a graduate research paper and the second is a consulting project followed by a 6-month internship.

Blended Learning

Our blended learning model allows you to have the flexibility to complete your degree while you work. Over 27 months, this stream uses a number of different delivery methods including textbooks, reading packages, case studies, and interactive internet-based learning.  Throughout the program, students attend three separate on-campus residencies that let you work face-to-face with your teammates and instructors.
