Viola Neufeld

Associate faculty

Humanitarian Studies

Viola Neufeld is a conflict consultant, conflict coach and co-owner of Vancouver-based Transpectives Consulting Inc. She has been an associate faculty member in the MA in Conflict Analysis and Management program since 2004. On the assumption that sustainable change is built from the inside out, Neufeld works with leaders to design and facilitate processes which break through entrenched barriers to transition. Neufeld is most interested in the use of self in conflict, the interplay between external and internal conflict, how each necessitates the other, and conflict’s impact on identity.

She is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist with British Columbia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a Registered Social Worker with British Columbia College of Social Workers.

Experience

As a co-owner of Transpectives Consulting Inc., along with fellow associate faculty member John Radford, Neufeld assists families, organizations, communities or individuals when they get relationally stuck in conflict to find a sustainable way through the impasse. As a coach, facilitator, mediator, educator and counsellor, Neufeld has worked with both the public and private sector to create opportunity for moving beyond resolving conflict to rebuilding trust. Neufeld has been a business owner of several companies.
