Kathie Ross

Kathie Ross has been teaching accounting and finance courses at Royal Roads since 2010.  Her research interests include management learning and professional development, and she has co-authored an article based on her research. Ross enjoys travelling in the RV with her family and recently completed a year-long tour that included 49 states, 10 provinces and a territory.  A life-long learner herself, Ross is combining her love of travel and research with doctoral studies at Newcastle University in the UK where she has plans to expand her research on women accountants’ experiences with continuing professional development.

 

Experience

As well as teaching at RRU, Ross is also an instructor at Thompson River University and has previously taught at the University of Victoria, Camosun College and University Canada West. Ross also spends some of her time as a trainer in tax and accounting software. Before teaching, Ross gained extensive experience in Canadian domestic and international tax. She has worked for both public accounting firms and the Canada Revenue Agency. 

She is the recipient of the Overseas Research Scholarship from Newcastle University as well as an Athabasca University Excellence in Research Scholarship.

Ross is currently pursuing her PhD in accounting at Newcastle University.
